ALPES d´OC MORINESIO is a typical authentic example of Occitan-Provencal alpine architecture; the house dates from 1700 and was built exclusively with natural – stone and larch-wood – eco-environmental materials (by-products of wood, oil, lime).

Ideally suited to families, couples, groups from 2 to 4 per apartment. Flexibility in hospitality and arrangements.

In winter the area is highly appreciated for:

- downhill and cross-country skiing- trekking with snowshoes
- bobbing for children and teenagers

In spring and summer the uncontaminated untamed nature offers breathtaking panoramas and sceneries:

- Rock and wall climbing.
- assorted routes for mountain bikes and “battle” territory for Iron Bikes.
- Tours for road bicycles on alpine hills with little traffic; areas transited by the Giro d’italia and the Tour de France.
- Rock gym, via ferrata routes, Tibetan bridge.
- Horse trekking.
- Volleyball court.
- Bowls.
- Trekking paths along a network of signposted routes, which winds around the entire Maira valley for thousands of kilometres, with itineraries that last from 0,30hrsup to a week and more.

Description of the area:

The MAIRA VALLEY is one of Italy's Occitan/Provencal valleys, is located right in the heart of the Southern Cozie Alps: a delightfully picturesque unspoilt area which will amaze you with the beauty of its countryside.
An enormous range of natural environments: glacial erosion with its typical “Ciciu del Villar” formations, verdant woods in the heart of the Valley, endless high-altitude meadows. Unusual flora with rare species and many different types of plants found nowhere else.

A network of marked paths bearing witness to vernacular alpine architecture and immensely important religious monuments with mediaeval frescos.
The Occitan /Provencal dialect, an ancient language of troubadours, has survived over the centuries and is spoken in Italy, France and Spain.

Once there was plenty of trade and constant cultural exchange between Valle Maira and surrounding areas, but more recently, these contacts have become steadily rarer.

Arriving from Turin or from Cuneo or from Genoa or from Ventimiglia:
- Take the only road that climbs in the Maira valley for 20 km
- At the crossroads for the gorge of Stroppo turn right continuing on for 6 km
- Follow specific directions starting from the crossroads of Stroppo
