Description of the area:

Our house with its view over the Wörthersee and the surrounding mountains / Karawanken is situated in the sunniest part of Southern Austria. The Wörthersee is the warmest of the Austrian lakes (water temperature in July/August 22-28°C) and its water is so clear and clean that you can even drink it. Velden castle on the attractively laid out promenade along the lake front together with the Casino, an architectural gem, constitute the centre of Velden. There are plenty of street cafes and shops to make you want to wander around. Plenty of opportunities to practice your favourite sport. Excursions to Italy/Slovenia - only 30 minutes by car. Large number of lakes and natural lakes – even the spa in Villach (thermal water containing radon) is closeby.
