Situated at the heart of the tranquil village of Obertraun the Obertrauner Hof offers 12 spacious, individually decorated, en-suite rooms many of which have balconies opening out to breath-taking panoramic views of the Dachstein Massif. Our position ensures easy access to local amenities; shop, bank, tourist office and restaurants, all of which are within easy walking distance. We are pleased to offer our guests free; Tea & Coffee, WiFi, Car Parking.
Our large guest room with TV, Pool Table, hot & cold drinks and a separate childrens room, is ideal to meet with friends and plan the coming day.

For 2012, we are also able to offer guest cooking facilities including; 2 Ovens and Hobs, Freezer, Fridge, Microwave and cooking utensils etc.

The village of Obertraun is set on the eastern shores of the beautiful Hallstatter See Lake in the Inner Salzkammergut region of Austria. Boasting a unique blend of 7000 year old history and stunning natural beauty, the Inner Salzkammergut is a special place to visit. Indeed, it is not only the regions cultural heritage but also its majestic mountains and unspoilt nature that led the UNESCO to declare it a cultural and natural World Heritage Site. The pristine nature of the lakes, mountains and woods in the shadow of the Dachstein provides a real paradise for the wide range of activities that can be enjoyed in the area.

Description of the area:

The area offers many walking trails to suit all capabilities, with trips to the 5 Fingers Viewing platform high on the Krippenstein overlooking Obertraun and the Hallstattersee, the Dachstein Ice Cave and Hallstatt, are a must.

During the Ski Season take advantage of the Dachstein West Ski Pass incorporating 130km of intermediate piste at Gosau (15min away) and the Krippenstein with its 11km run from the top (2min away).

St Wolfgang Advent Markt is a short 40 minute drive, transfers available at 40EUR for up to 8 people.

Why not make Obertraun your base to visit the Salzkammergut region, with Salzburg, St Wolfgang, Bad Ischl and Bad Aussee, all within 90 minutes drive.
