The lounge is a delight to guests, a place to listen to music or enjoy a game of chess or cards. Perfect for those lazy afternoons and evenings. Of a night-time, sit back and absorb the ambience of reflections given by subtle lighting. The common area hosts an enormous wood fired heater - the perfect spot for you to snuggle up with a book or magazine from the bookcase or just gaze into the flames and dream away. The dining area provides the perfect place for dinner. All menus are personally selected with your dislikes, allergies or food intolerances in mind.

On a beautiful day take a stroll around the ambling paths through the cottage garden. There’ s something in flower all year round and in summer it becomes ablaze with colour. You’ ll enjoy nothing more than sipping on a tea or wine while enjoying the views of the garden complete with a backdrop of sprawling meadows.

Named "Centre" for its location in the heart of France, this remarkable region is dominated by the legendary Loire Valley. It is easily accessible from Paris, thanks to numerous autoroutes and the TGV high-speed train. From early spring to late autumn, natural splendors abound in the valleys of the Loire and its eastern tributaries, the rivers Creuse, Indre, Cher, Beuvron, Sauldre, and Allier.

The history of the Loire Valley is written in its architecture. For centuries the halls, turrets, and gardens of a thousand châteaux have been the setting for romance, politics, and intrigue. Among the best-known châteaux are Chambord, Chenonceau, Blois, and Villandry, but enchantment awaits in lesser-known examples also: Chaumont-sur-Loire, Talcy, Château de Beauregard, Château de Chamerolles. In Ussé you can find the inspiration for the castle of Sleeping Beauty.

Centre is also home to two of France's great cathedrals, at Bourges and Chartres. The latter contains some of the best examples of stained glass in France, fashioned by the same master-craftsmen who later constructed the magnificent windows of King Louis IX's Sainte-Chapelle in Paris.

The valley of the Loire produces 22 fine wines, including Bourgueil, Sancerre, Valençay, Vouvray, Montlouis, and Menetou-Salon. Among the region's excellent cheeses are Crottin de Chavignol, Selles-sur-Cher, and Sainte-Maure de Touraine.

Description of the area:

We are 30 kilometres from the capital of the region Chateauroux and 8 kilometres from the historical medieval town Argenton-sur-Creuse with its ancient houses almost sliding into the river Creuse.

Argenton-sur-Creuse has a lovely town square where you can sit and drink coffee, it has many shops for you to spend time looking in, or visit the market on Saturdays which is supported heavily by the locals as most of the meats, fruit and vegetables are organic, or visit the museum based at the archaeological dig at Argentomagus, the former Roman town.

Limoges is a wonderful city to explore, only an hours drive south and with many fine restaurants, excellent shopping facilities and a wealth of delightful galleries, museums and local outlets for the famous Limoges pottery.
